Bernadette Greene-Placentia

U.S. Congress, AZ-08

Bernadette Greene-Placentia is a working class Democrat, mother, small business owner, and long haul trucker. Raised in a rural Midwestern union family, she was selected as a Congressional Youth Scholar and attended the University of Arizona on a full ride Army ROTC scholarship before a car accident changed her path. After earning her commercial driver's license in 1997, she spent 27 years on the road, logging more than four million miles while building and running her own trucking business. Having managed payroll, navigated regulations, and experienced firsthand the rising costs facing working families, Greene-Placentia brings a practical, working class perspective to public service.

Greene-Placentia is running to represent Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, which includes communities outside Phoenix, to bring working people’s voices to Washington. She is committed to lowering everyday costs, protecting reproductive freedom, strengthening Social Security and Medicare, expanding affordable healthcare, supporting veterans, and defending worker and union rights. She also advocates for stronger public schools, affordable housing, responsible border security, and protections for independent truckers and small businesses. Drawing on her own experiences with rising healthcare costs and her family’s struggles accessing affordable medical care, Greene-Placentia believes the government must keep its promises and deliver practical solutions.
