Bruno Barriero
Florida State House of Representatives, District 113 (FL HD-113)
Bruno Barreiro is a former state representative and county commissioner running for Florida House of Representatives, District 113. Barreiro has highlighted his “proven conservative record” and shared videos and photos of himself with Governor DeSantis and President Trump.
Barreiro was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1992 and in 1998 he was elected to the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners. He resigned in 2018 to run for Congress, where he lost in the primary. He attempted a comeback to the House of Representatives in 2020, but lost in the general, then ran for Miami Board of Commissioners in 2021, but withdrew before the election.
In a 2020 candidate questionnaire, Barreiro indicated that he believes life begins at conception and should be protected and that he supports the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (which doctors have called unnecessary, redundant, and harmful to their ability to provide care). He also indicated that he believes teachers should be allowed to carry guns at school. In a 2026 candidate questionnaire, Barreiro stated that he does not believe abortion should be allowed and that “the only exception [he] support[s] is when an abortion is medically necessary to save the life of the mother.” However, doctors have cautioned against this stance as criminalizing abortion, even accounting for exceptions, can impede their ability to provide care to ALL pregnant women and patients.
