Representative Michael Lankford

Tennessee State House of Representatives, District 75 (TN HD-75)

Michael Lankford is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing District 75, which includes Clarksville. He was appointed to the position in December 2025 after the passing of Representative Burkhart. Lankford previously served on the Montgomery County Commission.

Lankford has established an extremely conservative legislative record in his short time with the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Lankford supported legislation restricting how teachers and school employees can be addressed based on biological sex. He also supported bills allowing private citizens and attorneys to refuse to recognize or officiate same-sex marriages. Additionally, Lankford voted for legislation requiring local governments to verify applicants’ citizenship and report noncitizens to state immigration enforcement, and he voted to impose additional requirements on non-English speaking drivers.

Lankford is proudly pro-life and has expressed support for efforts to make it harder to access medication abortion. He also supports Tennessee’s existing abortion ban, and supported a bill to designate a Sanctity of Life Day and highlight Tennessee’s numerous pro-life laws. He has been endorsed by Tennessee Right to Life.
