Ron kokinda
Michigan State House of Representatives, District 2 (MI HD-2)
Ron Kokinda is the Republican nominee for the Michigan House of Representatives in District 2, which includes Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, and parts of Southgate. Kokinda previously ran and lost in the 2022 Republican primary election and the 2024 general election. Kokinda’s media responses and campaign display a conservative record and a pro-Trump agenda.
Kokinda’s campaign is openly aligned with the Trump-era “America First” Republican agenda. In a 2022 Facebook post, he claimed that the 2020 election was stolen, referring to January 6 as a “false flag”. In a 2026 questionnaire from the conservative organization Rescue Michigan Coalition, Kokinda indicated that he supports repealing the permit requirement to carry a concealed firearm, supports repealing protections for “sexual orientation and gender identity or expression,” and preventing vaccine mandates. He has also indicated his opposition to Red Flag gun laws and allowing trans girls to compete in women's sports.
Kokinda is endorsed by Michigan Health Choice Alliance, Citizens for Traditional Values (CTV), and Michigan Trump Republicans. CTV states that one of their “cornerstone beliefs” is protecting life from conception, even those "conceived from less than ideal circumstances”- likely an illusion to pregnancies resulting from rape and incest.
